About Shawn
BEHIND SUCCESS IS
A REAL STORY.
An executive coach and keynote speaker who stopped chasing the life he thought he wanted, and started living the one he truly did.
He was eight years old when everything changed.
His grandmother passed away. He was now being raised by a single mom who worked two jobs just to keep the lights on. In the days after the funeral, something shifted in him.
A sense that he needed to step up. To be the man of the house for the people who depended on him. He didn't have language for it then; but that moment planted a seed that grew into decades of drive, ambition, and an unrelenting will to build something that mattered.
Seven years into building his business, he was able to take care of his mom the way he'd always wanted to. He paid off her mortgage and it felt incredible. For a little while. Then the feeling faded, and he went looking for the next one. More money. More wins. More moments like that. Because surely enough of them would finally add up to happiness that stayed. That became the pattern. Earn it, feel it for a moment, then chase the next one.
Somewhere in there, the pursuit of success had turned into a drug. The high never lasted, so he always needed more. And no matter how much he won, part of him was still waiting for it to feel like enough. It never did. That belief would take years to unlearn.
“More was always the answer. Worth was something you earned. Real success meant never stopping.”
He carried that belief all the way to the top. And it almost cost him everything.
WHAT SUCCESS MISSED
You can build a life and still
lose the things that
make it worth living.
Shawn built a thriving business. He was becoming someone others looked to for guidance and leadership. He was showing up, achieving, and winning by every conventional measure.
What he was not doing was being fully present in the life happening right in front of him.
His marriage was strong on paper. But somewhere along the way, the partnership turned into a competition with two driven people, both running full speed. What finally changed things started within himself. Shawn took an honest look at his life and admitted that the same drive he was so proud of was actually costing him the relationship he wanted most.
"The hardest conversation I ever had wasn't with my wife. It was with myself."
Not a program. Not a framework.
That shift changed his marriage. It changed how he leads. And it became one of the clearest examples of what The 25% Rule actually looks like in real life.
Why he started speaking.
Shawn did not grow up dreaming of a stage.
He started speaking because he kept having the same conversation. With friends who had built successful businesses and were struggling, rarely talking about it. With peers who had hit every goal and still felt like something was missing. With leaders who had won and did not know what to do with that feeling.
He would sit across from someone successful and hear himself in what they were describing. The pressure that does not stop. The wins that land hollow. The slow awareness that the plan that got you here is not the plan that will sustain you.
“One of the most common and least discussed realities in high performance: You’re not broken. Your plan is.”
Who he is today.
He lives in Florida with his wife and their two daughters. He still loves to play volleyball and golf. He tries, every day, to live the version of success he talks about in his coaching sessions and from the stage.
He is direct without being harsh. He will push you, and he will be in your corner while he does it. He does not just talk about winning well. He genuinely lives it.
What he believes.
Shawn believes the most powerful thing a high achiever can do is look honestly at the model they are running.
Not to tear it down or slow it down. Just to ask: is this still working for me? Is it working for the people I love?
Most leaders are never asked that question, and if they are, it's not by someone qualified to help them answer it.
Shawn fills that gap.
He is not a motivational speaker who fires you up and sends you back to the same system. He is someone who sits with you, understands how you think, and helps you build something more durable than what you started with.
